As we are headed to the final weeks before the celebrations. Many are finding themselves with the seasonal colds, and respiratory infections familiar to the to the time of year, and one where symptoms are all worse for the cold. Hepar Sulphuris Calcareum or, Hepar Sulph.
Hepar Sulph (Calcium Sulphide).

Hepar Sulph is a remedy where infections with suppuration. It encourages the release of infected states and one where symptoms are all sensitive for the cold. Discharges are acrid, yellow and thick.
Highly Irritable Children with sore throats, suspected tonsilitis where on swallowing feels like there is a splinter or fish bone stuck. Painful ears infections which are worse from being exposed to the cold. Angry at the slightest of things. You could say they are bitter like the taste in their mouth. The tongue is coated thick yellow and white.
Cold sores, which are worse for cold air.
There is pharyngitis with stitching like pains. A weakness in the respiratory sphere leading to tendency of laryngitis, Bronchitis, Pleurisy or Pneumonia.
Some other remedies may be applicable in the early stages of infection or inflammation such as Aconite, Belladonna, Chamomilla or Ferrum Phos However wherever there is pus and infection Hepar Sulph is well indicated.
